Al Stephens was a beloved Philly Freedom Star Basketball Coach, who lost his battle with Cancer in the Spring of 2016. Al was well loved and highly respected by all Players, Parents and fellow Coaches.
Al showed great passion for the game and more importantly helping all of the kids learn the game and also the life lessons that basketball teaches all of us. He was a giving person and took true joy in helping those that needed it the most.
In the spirit of Al Stephens’ legacy, we have started a Memorial Fund, that will benefit families who would otherwise be unable to afford paying their basketball registration fees. Now Coach Al can continue helping the children, even in spirit.
Because we are a 501(3)c Organization, all donations to the Coach Al Stephens Memorial Fund, will be tax deductible. Thank you for your generosity and helping us honor Coach Al for years to come!

Dear Coach Al, Thank you for always encouraging us. Thank you for taking time out of your day to help us succeed and get better. From the few times I had you as a coach, you taught me to never get down on myself, to keep working, and most importantly never be satisfied where I'm at. You will truly be missed and I'm blessed to have met you. Love, Nyah GarrisonPFS 17U Elite Team
